For those attending our services in person, you can simply drop your giving envelope in the offering plate during the designated time. For those attending our services in person, we have made giving easy and accessible. Giving envelopes are thoughtfully placed in each pew, providing a convenient way for you to contribute during our worship services. Simply take an envelope, fill it with your gift (either cash or check), and place it in the offering plate when it is passed during the designated time. Financial Resources
(MDR - making gifts from retirement account)
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
If you have an IRA account, you can make a direct transfer from your IRA custodian to a qualified charity such as Grace. In addition, if you are required to make a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD from your account, such gifts count towards meeting that requirement and you may be able to exclude the gift from your taxable income. QCDs don’t require that you itemize to take full advantage of the income reduction, and you can still take full advantage of the larger standard deduction. As there are various requirements to be eligible to make QCDs, you must seek advice from your tax advisor and account custodian. No special instructions are needed as your custodian will mail the check directly to the church. Just be sure to ask them to include your name and any special instructions on the memo line to ensure it gets credited to your account correctly. Below is a sample letter to your IRA administrator you may find helpful.
Direct stock transfers
A direct gift of stock and other appreciated securities may allow you to claim a tax deduction on the full appreciated value of the securities without you having to sell the securities and report capital gains. Once again, you will need to consult your tax advisor and stockbroker to ensure the securities qualify and to request the transfer. Once the stock is received, Grace’s investment advisor will sell the stock and transfer the proceeds into our account. Your stockbroker will need the following information to make the transfer:
